What I want to know is, will this machine be able to play all of that latest PC games on the highest settings...considering I get boot camp and install win xp pro?

Also what do you guys think of this setup?

And btw this is my first apple ever, basically I decided to leave windows for a little while and check out apple ! I am hoping I become impressed with all it's features !

And finally what are your overall thoughts of Apple ? Is it worth making the switch and how about all the software? Is it possible to do everything on an APPLE + plus more....then a windows based system?

Thanks

Jordan

That is a great set-up. You could save a bit by getting memory from a third-party vendor (crucial, newegg, etc.). Could you play the latest w/ the highest settings? Not sure....when I had mine, I was able to play BF2, COD2, F.E.A.R., CS:S. Not necessarily on the highest settings, but with good results. Considering I am not a huge gamer, it was good enough for me. You won't be disappointed -- it is a great machine.

thanks sincitymedic yes I sure am looking forward to purchasing one of these powerhouse notebooks !

One more thing I wanted to know, when Microsoft releases Vista, will these notebooks support the OS and most importantly will I be able to run it using boot camp ?

Speakers: average - good for a laptop. I don't think it's anything special, which is why I use an external set, particularly when I play games.

As far as Vista --- no one really knows. We should know more in the coming weeks when Apple makes some of their OS 10.5 announcements.

Definitely order the RAM from some place else. The computer makers charge way too much for it for some reason.

The hardware will definitely support Vista, but right now, the beta's cannot be installed without a kludge unlike Windows XP. If the final is like that it's expected that Apple will probably release a firmware update.
