Just bought a refurbished Dell on a whim. Good Deal?

I just spontaneously bought my laptop finally.

For $1029.

E1505/6400 Case
Duo Core 2.0 GHZ
2 GB RAM
15.4 SXGA+ Ultrasharp/Truelife
256 ATI X1400
Bluetooth
DVD-R Drive DL
100 GB 7200 RPM
TV Tuner with Remote
HD Audio Card

I think everything else was standard. Shipping was free too.

Aside from the deal question... It says there is a 7 day build time and that it will ship on 8/25. Please someone tell me this is a lie. I need it for the 25th. I figured refurbished would be ready to go out the door?

I was thrilled when this came up because it basically maxed out every option except the battery (I would have liked the 9 cell but I will get over it).

It actually came to $1129- but I bought a $100 off $999 Outlet coupon on ebay for 3 bucks. I also completely forgot that my company gives a 20% reimbursement on a PC purchase every 2 years. After taxes (on the reimbursement) this will end up costing me about $885-. It does seem like a pretty good deal.

Now I just hope it comes in good shape... (it was just refurbished, not scratch and dent but you never know, I guess).

WOW, I would say you got a great deal (if the laptop show up in good condition that is) I don't even need a laptop right now but if I could score that kind of deal I would probably just shell out the cash.

Agreed! You certainly can't buy all those parts for that cheap, and i really doubt you can get it new with the 2Ghz and 2GB Ram for less than 1K.. so yeah, enjoy- sounds like a great rig!

Very happy with mine. $700 shipped, I upgraded from 1 GB to 2 GB RAM. It was refurbished but I swear it looks and feels brand new.

My 8600 was purchased as a refurbished unit from the Dell Outlet. No problems in over 2 years of service. I will buy my next computer from the Outlet also. I'm currently browsing for a e1505. Does anyone have a coupon for the outlet?

Thanks
