Finally broke down and sold my macbook pro and bought a xps

After using my macbook pro for 3 months, I finally couldn't stand it anymore. Sold my macbook pro and bought a M1710. Subtotal was 2,319.68. T7200CPU with 3 year warranty and the 3 year accidental damage thing (I think it's called complete care?).

Even though my mac was 2.16 and this one is 2 ghz, the xps was 400 bucks cheaper after taxes. I am so sick of Apple notebooks. I figured I would give it a try with the bootcamp thing but yeah, screw macs.

Welcome to the world of Windows/Linux... Not all that bad, but if you chose the windows world you've joined the world of crashing, but at least you have control over what your apps do and they won't minimize on their own and your OS will actually give you the feeling of having control.

Macs are great for some things. I still have my mint Powerbook G4 1.67ghz and use it a lot. But the M1710 is the killer..

Yeah. I was wondering, too.

I wish I could have my Dell in a Mac body. I love their build quality.

haha, I currently own a xps gen 2 and am going to buy a 2.0 ghz macbook to replace it (well, not selling it.... still need it for games and turbotax/quicken) sorta the inverse. what issues were you experiencing to make you switch to windows? the m1710 makes me drool though, very nice choice!

Out of curiosity: What do you mean by that? I use my PCs a lot, and work them hard, too, but I have a hard time remembering when I saw any of my machines crash. I think there once was an incident was about two years ago, or thereabouts...

The closest I have come to a crash in XP in the last year was a poorly written APP hanging.

His whole computing world must be based on those 'PC vs Mac' commercials. Windows XP has been great for me on my 2 laptops and 2 desktops.
