Official word on upgrades and warranty

I asked Dell technical support about whether a processor upgrade (to Core 2 Duo) would void my warranty, and this was the answer I got:

Quote:
Carrying out any upgrades will not invalidate your warranty.

However, should your system experience any hardware/software malfunctions, you may be required to configure your system to its original state in order to determine the cause of the problem.

Dell do not carry out upgrade requests, therefore you will have to carry out the installation yourself. It also does not matter from where you buy the processor.

Best regards,

Dell XPS Technical Support.
