Question A03 or A04 bios E1705?

Hello everyone, I have been reading posts for quite a while but haven't posted yet. I have a I9400 C2D T7400 with the 2 gig ram, 7900gs, etc. It came with the A03 bios. I was able to download the A04 bios a few days ago when it was available but I haven't flashed it yet. What is the feedback on this bios? Does it run the GPU cooler if overclocked? I noticed that someone flashed to A04 but wanted to go back to A03, should I flash to the A04, I am worried that I can't get a copy of A03 if I need to go back?

Also, as an aside, I have attempted to use I8kfangui and I9kfangui as well and my fans always start to pulse, does anyone know of a solution for this?

If it's working and you got your laptop like that from factory with a core 2 duo and A03 why bother.
This newer bios A04 is more for ppl using a older bios version and want to upgrade to a core 2 duo processor in the current 9400 machines.

Only one person seems to be not happy with A04 cause his getting a slower 3sec super pi time other then that everyone else seems to be happy with it.

So it's up to you.

I have flashed to A04 for the exact reasons above - As I know no one has a copy of the install for A03. So if you do flash it will be gone for good, and while I can't complain about A04, my super pi score is at 27 for 1M (2.16 CD) I have always intended to run a 2.33 C2D once the price comes down a bit.

27? FOr 2.16 thats not too flash...I reckon that A04 BIOS does do something other than add the SATA HD power management, from the A)# BIOS...

Yep my m1710 A03 bios is giving me results of 21sec t7600 retail chip where as before i had i8nfan installed it was showing 23 sec's.

Sounds to me where comparing super pi results to see if a bios is good or bad hmmm I'm sure other things besides a bios effects super pi results

On my E1705 upgraded to a 7400 Merom, I went straight from A02 to A04 (couldn't find A03), and my reported temps are much higher for both my CPU and GPU (my GPU seems stuck at 135-141F in 2d mode and my CPU goes to 175F under load (before, never over 156F) despite fans set to max!). I only did the flash because under A02, I had to run RMClock to get it running at the right speed (and not 995MHz). I'd like to try A03...

Maybe the temps didn't read correctly in I8kfanGUI before (or maybe after), but it seems like a heat increase.
