New A04 bios

Dell Inspiron 9100 System BIOS, A04
Release Date: 10/07/2004

Somebody who try this please let us know if your notebook happy even after. Looks like there are Prescott-related changes only, so I do not urge to apply it.

The BIOS just adds microcode for Prescott chips, for those with Northwood chips i don't think it helps at all

the 04 bios for the inspiron 9100 is either not there yet, or not anymore. just look into the ftp bios folder. there is only the text file, but not the bios itself. the one for the XPS though is there.

no, i don't think so. the link points to a differently named file. also the text file for the 9100 bios is there and is named I900A04.txt

I am sure that the bios for the XPS and 9100 are identical; since the machines are (or can be made identical). However, I can live without the problems that would ensue should the bios' not be compatible. No Guinea Pig am I!
