Dell profits surge on PC, printer sales
By BLOOMBERG NEWS SERVICE Dell Inc., the world's largest personal-computer maker, said third-quarter profit rose 25 percent, driven by demand for PCs and printers during the back-to- school season. Net income increased to $846 million, or 33 cents a share, from $677 million, or 26 cents, a year earlier, the Texas-based company said. Sales rose to $12.5 billion from $10.6 billion, matching a forecast made by Dell in August. Chief Executive Kevin Rollins said last week he's 12 months ahead of schedule on a five-year plan to reach $60 billion in annual sales by 2007. ------ It looks like all of the coupons benefitted everyone. ![]() |

Dell's fiscal year ends at the end of January, so the '2007' they refer to is 2/06 - 1/07. They're on track to hit 60b 2/05 - 1/06. |

Dell has been above $30b since 2000. They sell a -lot- of computers, needless to say. ![]() |
