Anyone go from 5500 -> 7700?

I'm considering buying a 7700 once I get enough money, but there's a few things I'm still not sure of :-/

First, has anyone done direct comparisons of the 5500 to the 7700? I know the video cards in the 7700 are far better, but I'd like to get an idea just how much better - especially since the laptop would be faster than my desktop. Perhaps someone could run the cs stress test at 1680x1050 or whatever, just to give me an idea?

Can someone post pics of the 5500 next to the 7700?

And for some more general questions

Does the 1440x900 screen have a webcam thing built in? I think I heard someone say it does, but others say it doesn't

If I was to order one hard drive, and later decided to install another one (not for raid, for linux maybe) could I do that? Is there anything I'd have to buy to make it fit?

Same question for the optical drives, could I just add a second one at a later time?

And last, does the alienware have a tv tuner? It says this on their configurator: Video-IN & OUT ports (TVtuner required)
So where is the option to add the tuner?

Even if you didn't go from a 5500 to a 7700, could you at least try the CS:S video stress test pweaase!

My friend just got a sager 9860 (7700) from pctorque I will see if he'll run the bench for you.

Comparitively speaking between my 5500 and his sager in things other than video games such as rendering in maya they are pretty close. He has a 6xx series intel p4 with 64 bit emulation running at 3.2 while I have a 2.8 HT p4. We both rendered a scene running right next to each other and his was about 45 seconds fast on an 3:36 second typical render on my machine. That is an average increase based on his extra 400mhz.

To my knowledge there isn't a camera on the lower res screen and as far as adding drives later you can, but looking at my friends sager they are not hot swapable so be prepared to screw them in.

As far as the video, there is a S-Video output without the tuner. Input you'll have to get usb capture card.

Top it off with a 160 GB WD 7200 RPM 8MB Cache External HD and we have lift off!

I went to a 7700 and I love it. The screen is beautiful and everything runs like a charm.
Definitly worth it
