Yo Yo Yo!
Express your thoughts, your experiences, and your praise about the Asus Z71V!!! As for me here are my comments to it... Asus Z71V is a very nice well built system which offers the best bang for the buck. It is full customizable vs others such as Acer 8100 series. It has pretty good fast performance and remarkably quiet compared with other laptop I have seen recently. One postive note most people agree with is not only is it quiet, but palm rest area and laptop overall is pretty cool and doesn't create high amount of heat! LCD screen is sharp offer high resolution of 1680 x 1050. See my reviews and other people if you want further analysis.... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-EDIT 05/17/2005-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Current List Of Review: Olli3 Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=73563 Smilepak's Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=74609 Djembe_Rob Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=74877 Djembe Official NotebookReview: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2346 1cent Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=79443 B_Nietsnie Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=76560 Bahama Llama Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=79616 CMYK Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=78968 TurboWagon Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=77223 BBQmyNutz Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=76544 Scoob's Review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=76597 Olli3 Z71v Pictures: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=73438 Spax's Chembook 2371v Pictures: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=82625 Jabronie505 Pictures: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=79913 B_Nietsnie Pictures: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=76561 Asus Z71V Unofficial Support Thread: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=72349 Where To Buy:

I played a DVD and had a hard time adjusting the color settings through the NVidia control panel to make it so I could see details within "black/shadowy" areas. The trouble was that adjusting the contrast/gamma/brightness beyond certain levels made the colors look washed out and they seemed to "bleed" into one another. I finally had to settle at a midpoint between washed/out and "can't see details in shadowy areas". Perhaps this wouldn't be a problem if I were using my 17" VGA LCD instead of the notebook screen.
Haven't tried any games yet, will try some tonight... you're right tho smile... very very little heat, virtually no fan noise. I unfortunately have one of the "sparkly screens". It is somewhat irritating but not a 100% dealbreaker. I'm not sure yet what to make of it. Perhaps a nushield would nuke the sparkle? |

Was considering bying a Dell 9300, thank god I opted for the Z71V. Very well built, great performance and nice looks. A very quiet and cool performing laptop which seems to never get too hot. The screen is wonderfully sharp and crisp, photos look sooo good their is no point to print them out

I love it so far. My framerate in World of Warcraft is a rock solid 70 FPS. Sacred looks damn good, as does SWAT 4. I have yet to fully drain out a battery.

pretty perfect so far. I can see the 'sparkles' if I really try, but it doesn't bother me in the least. great to type on, very cool (heatwise), great graphics, great screen. no problems.

Also, the new Omega Driver should be out tomorrow, which should enhance performance a bit.
