It seems Alienware has redeemed itself in my eyes! The turnaround for my 7700 (inwhich the video card overheated and blew) was a week. The day the received it, it was fixed, tested and shipped out!

That is good service to me! also, I have purchased a Kingwin UC3 laptop cooler which keeps my laptop very cool (Idle CPU temp is 43 C)

The only minor gripe i have (which i hope someone can help me with) is I get some fizz from my z560 speakers with the Audigy 2 ZS notebook...it doesn't seem to happen during mp3s, but during the "clicking" sound when i explore web pages. If anyone has had a similar problem and resolved it, let me know. thanks!

maybe it's the infrared port interferencing it.

It's pretty hard to shrug off a rant crying about a broken laptop on day 2 of taking delivery. AW Juan and Steve are doing a thankless job in performing damage control.

I disagree entirely with these childish rant tactics - stuff happens, regardless of who's at fault. That's what warranties and insurance are for. It's not like AW refused to service the machine, in which case a public rant might have truly been in order.

It's good to see that the laptop was turned around so quickly, though -- from all the horror stories about the hit-and-miss quality of the AW repair depot, I'll send my rig in for repairs only as a last resort.
