Inspiron 6000 A06 BIOS update

Hi all,
As most of you know , the latest BIOS upgrade for the i6000 is A06, I have A05 on my lappy. Has anybody upgraded their i6000 to A06? If so, could you post your experience with it? Is it worth the upgrade?

Somebody told me to just upgrade it, I don't know if things have changed from my time, but I thought a BIOS upgrade was only done on a "last resort" basis.

I upgraded mine - nothing noticably different - 'cept I like having the latest ATI BIOS for my x300 (which is in the BIOS update too).

General rule of thumb is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Cheers!

Jay

I upgraded mine last week and haven't noticed anything different, but then again I wasn't having any issues before I upgraded.

I just upgraded mine. I have been having problems now and then with the laptop not coming back from standby if I pull the power cord with it in standby and try to bring it back on battery power.

No word on if it is fixed from this update or not. Time will tell I guess.

Distephano,

This may be an ATI Powerplay issue - try disabling powerplay in the advanced settings for display settings, and see if this works...

Cheers!
