Anyone have a real "killer app" for using their wireless mouse/keyboard combo?

I'm asking because I'm trying to decide if I want to go that route, or simply use a USB mouse/keyboard combo instead--its lots cheaper, after all.

So, what kind of cool things do you use your wireless for that would make someone sit up and take notice?

killer app..?? not really

I have aquired and used several keyboards wireless/bluetooth/usb over the years and have found that the Microsoft Comfort Desktop suits me the best. I've had pain in several fingers until I switched to this one. I have a few mice around and the Explorer Wireless mouse works with this set as well.

Now for the cool part. I have the keyboard/mouse hooked upto a Mac Mini and a spare usb receiver hooked up to a Media Center that's across the room. This allows me to use the same keyboard to control both systems wirelessly (one has to be off at the time but that's not a problem for me.) I basically use the mac mini as a surf/mail machine since I feel it's the ultimate in virus protection for $500.

When this Media Center keyboard comes out, I'll be getting one of them.

I found the bluetooth keyboard/mouse kind of finicky... not always working and loses the configuration without warning. For my 9300... I use a wired Microsoft Explorer mouse right now.

Okay then, it seems to me that the only time you really need to use the wireless combo is if you're going to stay away from the laptop proper--in other words, the lappy's hooked up to a large display, right? And you're sitting 10-15 feet away...
Or am I missing some other advantage of going wireless?

I'd say playing games on a big-screen HDTV set...
Now THAT's a killer app!

(and you need a wireless mse/kbd for this)

No cords get in the way while gaming? And there is only one mouse with laser tech, the MX1000, which is wireless. Also it has a lithium ion battery, and auto shuts off when not in use. It is amazing But I just use for mouse control, nothing fancy

I guess that you only have to hook up one USB connection but I prefer to use the laptop keyboard and wired mouse on the laptop. I guess you could hook it up to a larger monitor but I doubt you'll find a reasonably priced monitor that will support 1920x1200 (if that's what you have).

High Definition TIVO. Plus you can watch HiDef shows that you can't see from your regular HiDef TV channels. Ya, Galahad's right--you'd need the keyboard and mouse for that.

not a "killer" app, but...

Oh yes, using ANY other keyboard/mouse keeps your laptop clean. Why wireless? Freedom to move away from the machine if you want to...you know, freedom of choice.
