i'd also like to know, for my 5660 i get on wednesday, thurday, or friday.

Although DVDs are 5GB, and at 8 speed it would take ages to rip onto hard drive, and take up so much time, so there is no point. Just take the DVD round with you in the drive i guess.

I don't think you use Nero to rip stuff of CDs. Nero on has burning and music ripping capabilities to my knowledge.

anyhow, it should be real easy on second thought. Win XP may have a built in ripper, so try just dragging the movie out of the DVD folder, or open nero and look for DVD contents and drag that onto desktop or wherever, (maybe a bit of a task for your cpu to rip a dvd movie ) or if none of them work go to google and search for free/shareware DVD ripper. Also the DVD software that comes with the sager that may have a ripper.

Try going to doom9.net, youll find a lot more than what your are looking for there, (and of course, there you will find what you want, keyword, smartrip)

well it only took me about 10 minutes to rip sorority boys w/ my 86's dvd player, and yes smartripper = good, if you want to encode it to divx or another similar format it will take you about 4 hours duel pass at about 1000kbps (im kinda pullin numbers from my brain here so this may not be correct but close) with an 2.8ghz cpu, 1 gig of ram and a 5400rpm hd.

If you want to copy dvds to cds (I know that's not what was requested, but hey), you can use Dup dvd. It's a good program :-) Nice and simple, lol. Not free, though... I'll have to try smartripper, though, it would be sweet to just have some movies on the hard drive instead of carrying dvds with you on the road :-)
