Dell Format Guide

I'm not too good at formatting and stuff. I just bought a 6000d, can someone please help me out and give me a step by step guide on how to get rid of all the bloatware? Also, I don't think they send the drivers CD with the system, so can someone tell me where to download everything I will need after the format? Thanks a lot.

Ok there's a lot of guide you can use, just use the search button. But luckily for you I'm at work and have nothing to do so imma do a step by step guide for you out of my memory.....(hope its acurate (my first tutorial))

Boot up win Xp
-Agree to their Terms by pressing F8
-Then if it detect that you already have Xp install its going to ask if you want to repair. Escape dont repair
-Continue installation until you get to the partition screen ( hope you know what that is)
Push D to delete partition prompt: push L then partition Deleted
Push C to create partiton- enter partition size push enter
-Go to C: partition and push enter
Then their going to ask you if you want to quick format NTFS, FAt32
or just regular format NTFS, FAT32.
For C: Never use quick format
-So choose that one that says Format NTFS (Not Quick format NTFS)
After that Xp is going to delete everything on you hard drive and install everything back for you.
After your able to log into window first thing to install is
1-Chipset Drivers
2-Notebook System Software
the rest of the driver doesnt matter what order you install them
and walllah your done....
Is this guide complicated or Easy? Answer me when you finish formatting your Hard drive

Thanks for the guide. I'm getting the laptop in 2-3 days since it's done boxing and will be shipped probably tomorrow. I hope I don't mess up, but thanks nonetheless.

Its easier than you think. you'll be fine. I recommend making two partitions. One for your OS and programs and the other for mp3s, videos, and just fun stuff.
