Notebooks, Backpacks, and Bicycles

So here's a question:
I just got an ASUS z70v and since I am living in a beautiful city, I bike ninety percent of the time in the spring/summer/fall. This means for my work as well (which will require my laptop sometimes.) Since it's such a beautifully cold city the cement gets worn and torn very fast so there are many bumps. Not mountain climbing bumps but they are apparant. I'm wondering if there is any backpack out there that can protect my new notebook from being smashed up when I'm riding my bike. Price is of no concern because I have the feeling I would rather spend the money to protect my computer than arrive at work with a computer that is broken. Any help on this subject would be so appreciated. -Haereio

I bicycle commute 6.5 miles each way, along much less than optimally maintain streets, pulling a B.O.B. single wheeled trailer behind my road bike. I've got a Rubbermaid Plastic Tote that fits nicely in it. The bottom is lined with bubble pack, and my 9880, fits perfectly flat along the bottom of it, in the stock carrying case. So far, so good, though it's only been a week that I've had my new toy.

Just don't go cycling with the computer turned on. (or in standby for that matter)

I made that mistake and my harddrive failed in less than 8 months

Always turn off when you head out

I use the standard HP backpack for my vaio on my bike. It has plenty of padding and has a coating that repels water. It's $50 at hpshopping.com

Okay stupid me found site right away. bags look really great, however, i need to add another thing into the equasion:

i need room for more stuff than just the laptop.
not a whole lot. but im carrying around an rme multiface for audio and maybe a pair of hd-580 headphones so extra room after my laptop is a must. cool thanks!

The Targus has some pockets, i carry some of my textbooks at the same time. As for headphones there are some nice side pockets to keep them in, also the front opens up, for a lot more room.
