Tough Decision

Recently posted this in General earlier today, but got no replies from 15
views, so I thought I would try to get some opinions here.

I am looking at buying a laptop for when I go to ITT-Tech in a few weeks.

Will be mainly used for school assignments, browsing, and DVD/MP3 entertainment,
not so much for playing games.
I am wanting something not too small, but not overly big either.
Weight is not an issue.

I would like to purchase one online, but do to being extremely busy with getting
ready for school as well as getting ready to move to a new city, I would much
rather purchase the laptop locally.

So far the best laptops that I have found in my town are at Sam's Club.

These are the two laptops with features that I am deciding on.

HP Model: dv4165cl = $1,399.87
# Pentium® M Processor 760
# 2.0GHz
# Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Edition + Service Pack 2
# 1024MB 333MHz DDR System Memory (2 Dimm)
# Maximum Supported Memory: 2048MB
# Accessible Memory Slots: 2
# Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900-up to (128mb shared)
# 100GB 4200 Hard Drive Drive
# LightScribe 8X DVD+RW and CD-RW Combo Drive with Double Layer Support with 1 CD-R blank media
# 15.4" WXGA High-Definition BrightView widescreen display (1280 x 800)

HP Model: dv1315cl = $1,199.84
# Pentium® M Processor 740A
# 1.73GHz
# Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition+Service Pack 2
# 1024MB 333MHz DDR System Memory (2 Dimm)
# Maximum Supported Memory: 2048MB
# Accessible Memory Slots: 2
# Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900-up to (128mb shared)
# 80GB 4200 Hard Drive
# DVD+RW & CD-RW Combo w/DL Support
# 14" WXGA High-Definition BrightView widescreen display (1280 x 768)

Same Options on Both Models:
# 6-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader for Secure Digital cards, MultiMedia cards, Memory Sticks, Memory Stick Pro, SmartMedia or xD Picture cards
# Integrated 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
# Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 802.11BG WLAN
# High speed 56k fax/modem
# 65W AC adapter
# 6-Cell Lithium-Ion battery (43Whr)
# HP Mobile Remote Control
# Mobile Stereo Earbud Headphones (1 pair)

I am unsure if an extra $200 is good or bad for 1.4" bigger screen, 20GB drive space,
.27GHz (270MHz), and Windows XP Pro for the dv4165cl over the dv1315cl

Again, this will mainly be used at school and doing home work at home with playing
of DVDs/MP3s, but at the same time I don't mind the extra power.

Thank you.

Any and all helpful comments/suggestions towards which one I should go with are
greatly appreciated.

Well I think either would do you well. The one thats 200 dollars more has about 200 dollars worth of improvementsI.E faster CPU larger monitor.

I like having a smaller system for portablility but thats just a personal preference.
