sure you can upgrade to the 6900 Go, that is if you can find one from Dell,
Call Dell up and tell them the system doesnt meet your needs and you require a 6800 go card, I dont see them available on the site, you may have a tough time getting one. Good Luck

Why not call Dell and ask?

I dunno where I read it, but somebody upgraded to a new 6800 go and it cost them $380. It was somewhere on this site, but I'm not sure where...

Don't confuse a Dell rep by saying "6800GT" instead of "6800 Go".

Normally, when customizing a new 9300, it costs $159 to upgrade to the 6800. I would not want to be paying too much more than that if you were planning on doing a swap with Dell.

can u upgrade a 6800go to the 6800go ultra for a 9300?

i think some people here have upgraded their 9300's to a 6800go ultra, but it does require some mods to the logic board from what I recall. do a search and i'm sure you'll find it.

Yes, but it would be a slight pain and you need certain items
1) 9 cell battery/ XPS2 Power Supply
2) 6800 Ultra
3) 6800 Ultra Bios Crack (search for it)
4) Tools

I think thats about it, but personally I would wait to see if Dell offers an upgrade to XPS2 and possibly i9300 users for a new gpu at a later date. If they offer it for both, then you are good, if only for the XPS2, there should be a wide abundance of ultra cards being sold here and online for cheaper.

Yeah, upgrading 6800 go to 6800 Ultra is a bit of work... and I believe the 9300's power isn't suited to it, so you don't get the full benefits.

To be honest, I don't think that is correct. Esentially they are the same minus small differences. If I recall, the person who attempted this had the ultra working, but this was before the OC bios hack for the ultra. Could be wrong though and Im searching but cant find it, hard when you have to look like you are working. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

You will be able to return your x300 card, but by not ordering the 6800 go card to begin with on your system, be prepared to pay ALOT more for it than you would had you originally ordered it. That being said, the 6800 is a great laptop card and worth an upgrade especially if you are going to play any games or do graphic intensive work on your lappy lappy
