Acer Ferrari Adapter Tip

Thread Starter
I am thinking about getting a valence N-charge system (gives you up to 10 hours of battery life) and it plugs into the ac adapter slot. The system has various amounts of Tips for different types of notebooks etc... It does not show a Ferrari as a compatible Tip but does show Travelmate 2000 series (seems new laptops have not been updated on the site). I was wondering if the ac adapter pin type on the travelmate series is the same as a Ferrari.

Thanks any input will be greatly appreciated

I'm looking for the same thing. Anyone know of a universal travel auto/air/wall adapter like the ones from Targus, Belkin, iGo, and Kensington? I need one for my Ferrari 3200 (I guess it needs 90W right?) that I can use to connect to the wall for AC and in the car and airplane.

I had used a targus adapter (slim profile) that works for auto/air/wall outlet. it was rated for 120W and I believed two of the included tips worked for the 3200 ( I think I endd up using #14 ?)

Anyway, I sold my F3200 and bought a F4000. To my dismay, the Targus would provide power BUT appeared to charge the battery at a much sower rate. It's either that or the Targus was not fully compatible with the 4000.

I now use a Kensington auto/air/wall adapter with the 4000. The "N3" tip works fine with it. oddly enough the adapter "brick" looks exactly the same as the old Targus, just re-badged. It is still rated for 120W. I carry that one since it weighs MUCH LESS than the ACER adapter !

P.S. The Kensington is known as "Universal 120W AC/DC Power Adapter"

I know this isn't relevant, but i just took a look at my adapter...it's made by Liteon! I thought those guys only made DVD drives?
As for the adapter issue, i've used my Ferrari in both UK and Taiwan and didn't really notice any difference in terms of power, charging etc...
