Problem with CPU temperature sensor on Inspiron 8200

Thread Starter
My Dell Inspiron 8200 incorrectly senses an overheated CPU every time it boots from a cold start. Thus the fans run flat out and the CPU speed reduces to 1.2 GhZ from 2.0 Ghz. If you let the computer completely boot up, then shut it down and reboot a second time, the problem goes away. But this means double booting the laptop every time you start it up. Is there a way to overide the sensor or can it be easily replaced?

Hello Graham,

I have a comparable problem of FALSE TEMPERATURE READING - did you solve it, and how? (on my side did all the dedusting stuff - left looking for this bloody thermistor)
Cheers & thanks if you answer.
