HD question and a where to buy

Thread Starter
Hey, i just purchased a 200 gig HD for my laptop. I was wondering do i have to reformat it if i am just using it for extra space, and the instructions said something special about drives over 137gb? I dont really understand what its talking about. Is it possible to partition the drive? Also, i am reformatting my laptop... can i partition the HD, and should i delete all the existing ones, or keep the small one that windows has? I basically want to move my music/pics/other crap to my external and reformat the laptop.

Also, is it possible to buy the little rubber things underneath the laptop that keep it from sliding...mine all fell off haha.

thanks,
darrin

1. New retail drives require format
2. The 137Gb limitation only happens on older versions of Windows.
3. It is recommended to make at least 2 partitions -- a primary partition of around 4-10 GB dedicated to the operating system, and another partition soley for program files and any saved documents

4. Contact your manufacturer for replacement parts
