The fact that they get hot show they're properly disapating heat. I have an enclosure right now that doesnt have a fan, and its worked great for the past 2 years. Just got another one for my new hard drive. They're also much nicer looking, as they're smaller and slimmer, and certainly not as loud.

umm, im not sure how i could keep it from melting besides dry ice and that might take all the moisture out of it. i'd also have to seal the top where you put the straw in to keep it from going all over the inside of the box.

...and you never said what flavor.

evo and darq thx for the advice , i still havent decided, may wait to get this for christmas...not really sure yet.

i cant tell if its 2.5", 3.5" or 5.25". i know its one of the bigger sizes. does anybody know?

and do enclosures come with the hardware to put the drive in and cables or is that generally bought separately?

coke, blue raspberry, cherry, mountain dew, a bunch of the retro flavors are out too since its the 40th anniversary of slurpees. a ton of flavors, mostly depends on the location.

i just bought the Western Digital 160 GB for $40 from best buy that evo posted before and this enclosure http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817145131 for $30 locally

I didn't want a big one with a fan, and this one manages heat just fine and is much slimmer/sleeker IMO

Currently I have one of these

With a 80gb hard drive in it. Eventually it will house a 500gb drive and this for system monitoring

im still looking at the 250gb drive since its on sale for a pretty good price, but i have looked at the WD 160gb.

I'm going to get the same enclosure you have, only blue, to match my computer. It works well then? any rants/raves?
