What's your Opinion on This Gateway?

Hey I was referred here by someone... So that makes me a newbie here I guess lol... Anyways, I was wondering if I would be able to get some opinions or advice on this Gateway Laptop. I had never really considered Gateway before (honestly don't really know much about them) but I saw this one the other day at Futureshop and it seems pretty perfect for me (keep in mind it's a Canadian site so prices are in Can$):

What do you mean by "If you don't plan to do much'? What do you consider "much"? If by that you mean like computer games and stuff... I deffinately won't be doing any of that... I hate all those games.. Total waste of time in my opinion... Time I just won't have... I basically just need the laptop for University... Typing essays and assignments, etc... Surfing the net for research,etc.... Chatting on MSN... Storing digital photos (I have one of those 1GB USB flash drive things for extra photo storage too)... Listening to music (mostly just CD's)... and I of course need the wireless internet for my classrooms..... Just basic stuff like that... I'm about to spend A LOT of money on an education out of town... So I can't be buying a $2800 laptop myself.

I was wondering hpman247 if you got the DVD Burner for your M680XL. If you did how is it. Is there any problems playing dvd movies, burning on blank dvds, and burning on blank cds? Or do you have the CDRW and DVD-ROm drive? If you do how is that when watching movies and burning cds? Thanks in advance!

It will be more than adequate for that load. I have some deployed laptops that are 3 years old that would be fine for that, if they had new batteries.
