New Mouse

Hey guys, I just got my new Logitech MX1000, but I can't for the life of me get it to work with my Dell i9300! I've tried going without the software, with the software, jumping around to different USB ports, charging it for several hours (it was already fully charged, but I did it anyway), repositioning the base/mouse several times, but nothing seems to be working.

Am I missing something here or did I get a bad mouse?

Forgot to mention that in my big list of stuff I have done, but I did that already. The mouse was on, I have hit reset on both the base and mouse, but nada.

BTW, the three battery lights on the mouse are solid green when on the base, but they go blank when I take it off of the base and try to use it. That doesn't seem normal to me, it could be, but I don't know.

Thanks for the help fellows.

Probably did this but did you flip the switch on the bottom of the mouse? (not the reset button the actual switch) The three lights should be on when you move the mouse. Thats how mine is.

Yep, did all that... Still a no go.

I think I'm going to send it back and try another one (another MX1000 that is). We'll see how that goes.

Mine is fine...are you sure the distance b/w the charger and the mouse is good (I cant remember the recommended distance although i have to say it didnt matter for me)...try plugging it in while computer is off and booting it up and seeing if mouse works

like it was said before, prolly a bad mouse. although the battery lights to turn off after not being used for a certain time, not quite sure of the exact time it takes for it to go into its "standby mode", but when moving, the lights should be on.

Alex, Have you check your USB drivers? Got exact same problem driving me crazy. finally found the drivers were corrupted....................Install new chipset from dell, done deal

the mouse leds would shine regardless of whether it was plugged into computer properly or not...if the mouse is on it should have the battery leds shine when it is moved as long as its on...

If the mouse is turned to off then the lights go off immediately after removing from the charger. So either the on/off switch is broken on the underside of the mouse or something else.
