Internet Connect Problem

Thread Starter
I am a poor college freshman and I am trying to connect to the internet, using NetZero, on my new Powerbook G4... ha. "poor" and "new Powerbook G4" kinda make that sentence an oxymoron, no?

anyhoo. It has taken me forever to configure the settings for the modem since I used to connect through Ethernet at my high school and that was a practically brainless process.

What I need to know is how to configure the web proxy server thing. Do I use a public web proxy server? is there a way to go around this without having to use the whole "bypass these hosts and domains" thing?

If I sound like an idiot or if I've misused any lingo, forgive me. And any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Getting a wireless connection can be very easy, but sometimes it gets tricky - particularly when there is tight security. If you haven't already, you might want to visit the Apple Support Discussions website - lots of experts there to walk you through your setup. And a general google search for your topic may bring up a surprising number of useful hits (apologies if you've already tried that).

Good Luck - rest assured there is a way to do it once you get the info you need.
