Couple of odd things...

first i cant get my mic working, anyone got info on that?

2. there is this wierd "autoplay" thing. occasionally a dialog box will come up titled "autoplay" it will have the searching flashlight, and a little progress bar thing. i do not know what triggers it, but i have noticed there is a sound associated... its the sound like when you plug in or remove a USB device. when i bring up the task manager, and do "go to process" with it, its "explorer" so its definately not some spyware thing, which was my first conclusion. i ran nortan, ad-aware, and spybot, just incase.... nothing related.

last thing, i have the cheaper tv tuner, but the remote is not working.... the power button turns the computer off, but no other button works at all. i previously disabled the infrared device because it was beeping, but that is the one on the left, right? the one for the tuner is on the audio dj panel, right? im confused.

any advice/help for any of this?

I don't know the answer to your first or last question, but your second question (about autoplay) is a standard Windows XP response. Basically, whenever new media is entered--be it an external hard drive, memory stick, CD, DVD, etc.--it searches through the files to determine what kind of media it is. If you put a memory stick in, it'll usually give you media-type responses; a hard drive will suggest browsing using explorer. As to shutting it off, I'm not sure... it shouldn't popup often, and when it does I usually use it.

um no, thats not whats happening.... this is happening at as far as i can tell random times. i know what happens when i put in a usb storage device, and it makes the same sound, but this problem is different. ill try to save a screen shot... its not actually doing anything just the dialog box is titled "autoplay" an d the program in the task manager is titled autoplay. it has nothing to do with any thing i have plugged into the usb ports or the optical drive.

Had the same problem with autoplay. This should fix it: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
I have the same problem with the remote to some extent. I dunno, I gave up on it. ~ Kray

This is in reference to your last question. I had the same problem, I figured it out by playing around with the software. If you installed the AverTv software, run the Quick AverTv (I think it is something with quick in it; it may not accually be called "Quick AverTv") it will be in the start menu under the AverTv folder. A little icon will appear in the task bar, it will look like a remote; the remote should now work.

I would check on my computer but I had to RMA it . Hope this works.

ok i was trying out the autoplay fixer thing, so far no luck with it. any other solutions?

btw, this is an odd thing.... all of my usb ports are upside down, is this normal? i kinda feel that i have a hardware problem as i have that other usb bug, but the autoplay bug and it make the same noise... so do all 9880s have the usb ports upside down, or just mine?
