2minutes, 30 seconds ARGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

This is driving me NUTS! It takes (and I've timed it with a stopwatch) about 2minutes and 30seconds from the moment my Sager 9860 boots up to the desktop to the point where the "hour glass" goes away and I can click on "Start".

This is not Sager's fault ... Something has changed on my system since when I got it and I don't know how to figure out what SERVICE or PROCESS is making this boot up a piece of SH*T!?

Can anyone help me?

try bootvis to optimize your boot time.

wouldnt hurt to to an anti-virus scan, and a lavasoft ad-aware scan. i also like to complement that with spybot s&d, catches a few things ad-aware doesnt.

Disable GUIBOOT, Disable RAM count at boot up (Im gonna try this too), msconfig and disable all the crappy icons in the sys tray. Tread lightly in the services, document! Disable the logon sound. And of course defrag and bla bla bla. I got mine down to 90 sec so far. Not great but ok

BTW I can't get bootvis to work. I wish I could. Its supposed to tell every boot op. You may have a hanging driver or something.

Run Chkdsk to see if there are any system errors. Could be wireless trying to connect or a program file that is corrupted or not installed/uninstalled correctly.
