new forum pages? - Page 4

I'm not liking it. Now vBulletin looks like some cheap ezboard knockoff.

D00d theses forums are fscked up.

If it ain't broke...

Well, I'd have to concur with Aussie on this one... too much VERTICAL real estate is taken up by Avatars and Sigs (and I don't want to turn them OFF, but keep them on the sides as much as possible).

Also, where is the MARK ALL POSTS AS READ button? Oh, the gripes to come! At least the pale blue works in the User CP (didn't work on the quick format thing).

PS: Plus, the smileys should be at the LEFT

AND, the NEXT thing after a POST EDIT box should be the "SUBMIT" button, as I am so used to hitting TAB then SPACE to post! Man, I'm picky!

Jeeze, Myrkat, do the forums exist to suit your every whim

Man, I freaked out this morning when I saw the forums, I thought it was from something I did last night, and then I remembered that I'm an engineering student and that I didn't do anything last night. Looks like I'll have to cut down my avatar.

Actually, I like the smiley's on the right, since it is easier for me to move my mouse to them, it just feels right. I've really gotten messed up by the scrolling box for past posts when you go to reply. At least there is no more submit reply/submit new thread confusion.

Wow.. at this point, im thinking about leaving too. THis new layout looks like crap. Very unprofessional. Any chance of going back? There was no need to change it.....

Ratha has just removed the offending ActiveX component - it was doing some fancy fade effects that Ratha couldn't even find an example of.

One issue down. Vertical spacing to go. I also notice we have lost our location and witty comment fields below our avatars .

Oh well progress stops for nobody.

This update is disgusting.

I still say we go back to the OLD style that was on a couple of months back.

Simple and Effective...

the K.I.S.S Princinple....

This suxxers - I love the fact that PC Torque is making an effort but i'd really prefer they direct it elsewhere. What was, was awesome...what is is terrible and tacky.

PC Torque - Please set up a BF 1942 server and stop messing with the layout

God, why is everyone so afraid of change? The design of the webpage improved dramatically. Sure you guys can't find your buttons and wierd shtuff happens every once in a while, but it's time to move away from the classic sager forums page and indulge in a working environment that is bright. Go with Pale Blues. The ol' blue pages was too dark, and i always felt like i was in a dank cave. I also believe that the avatars existing on the top of each post will mean that when people post larger pictures, we won't have to scroll to the right to read everyone else's posts. That was really friggen annoying. Horray for the new pages!

Heh I kinda hafta agree.... miss the old red on black style.... too much white/gray in current layout for me....
I agree as well. I still have no clue why they decided to change the forum again. It was finally working as before and then...
I dont mind the colours, I've been on pale blues for a while now anyway, but the layout . Much prefered the old 'avatars to the left' style, there's also huge gaps between posts now. You're right we dont have to scroll right anymore (although I never had to - uxga) we do all now have to scroll down more.

Still, I fear we'll have to live with it. PCT, it'd be great if you could bring back the old feature where you could preview a thread by mouseover and it came up in a big caption box, instead of the few words we get now.

Is it just me or is there no difference between Classic Sagerforums and Default style?

<BITCH>

I want the old style, not this black, and various shades of gray!

You guys are concerned with colors? LOL

These forums are just plain space inefficient, and I run at 1280*1024 dual montors, lol. My scroll wheel needs a re-rubberizing like they do on 18 wheeler and bus tires, haha.

We had to switch to the new software to have the features we need. The changes have been going on over the last couple of months and will continue to for a few more weeks. I made the default this color so people would stop complaining that it was hard to read. There is no perfect forum layout that someone wouldn't complain about. All we can do is make forum layout options and it will take some time. Functionality is what we want right now and we'll work on the pretty features to please people later. You'll notice you can now minimize and maximize whole forum sections on the main page view and you can also change the forum skin/style set at the bottom of the main page in a pull down menu. We'll add more options soon.

Thank you for the heads-up, Adam. It is good to know what is going on .

I liked it better when it was changed earlier. It was navy blue and red and black like it was before but in a different layout. Now it's all grey and it looks weird. You should make a color scheme like it was yesterday.

Right on! i am looking forward to it. Reiterating, change is good. and i'm sure once it's all said and done, after this thread is way back into the archives, that we will all accept the forum. What kinds of features are you planning on adding to the forums?

What would people like to see?

I really like the minimize feature. No more Alienware for me, .

Hmm... I think I'm starting to lighten up about this change thing. I've changed to the bright layout and the forum feels sort of new now.... Nice & Shiny.
