I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...

This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented. Overall A+++

You'll have to use the Restore Discs that came with the machine. You should place the first CD(usually they come with 4 seperate install discs numbered such as 1 of 4, 2 of 4 etc.) and reboot the laptop. It should automatically load the system restore menu and enable you to reformat(you'll lose everything on the hard drive) and restore the system back to its originally configuration. If it doesnt then you'll have to go into the BIOS and go to the boot up/start up section and configure the macine to boot from the CD-ROM drive first...Then save your settings. Your machine will restart and then it should start and go through the system restore menu. If you dont have the restore cds/cant get them from your dad then you'll have to call up HP with the model number(they may also ask for the serial number) and place an order for the restore cds. They are free but you'll have to pay for shipping(usually they charge you 20.00). If you dont want to go through HP and you cant get them from your dad or dont have them...THen the only other place would probably be Ebay..otherwise your out of luck.
