Logitech MX900 Bluetooth Mouse!

Thread Starter
I think I have seen some posts about the Logitech MX900 not being available as of yet, but I found a site selling it for under retail even (80 bucks shipped!)!

Here's that link:
http://www.pcuniverse.com/product.as...1754790&m_id=8

And a review...looks to be a good mouse!:
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...1364405,00.asp

Anyone going to try it out? Peace.

No.. people have gotten the billington card to work.. the base is only used if you want to recharge the batteries in the mouse, or dont already have a BT card..

It shouldn't, as long as we can get the HID profile working on our laptops, a dicey matter to say the least. The assumption is that most people don't have bluetooth, so it comes with a base station (which doubles as the charger).

Because Billington wont give sager the HID compatible drivers for our cards.. so we have to use other, hacked drivers to get it to work..

Oh..

HID= human Interface device(s)
Basically, it is the profile that allows you to use interface devices (mice, keyboards) interchangably without having to shut down..

I know that MikeInMass is using the Microsoft BT mouse.

Yup, it works for me. It seems that I'm the only one thus far. I actually had it working with the 1.3.2.9 drivers, but I quickly updated to a hacked 1.4.x.x version just to avoid any pitfalls since I also have a bluetooth phone and a bluetooth GPS receiver.

I didn't find it too difficult to get it working once I got the updated drivers. The key is to not install any of the Microsoft programs that come with the mouse. Just let the Widcomm drivers and Windows handle it.

If you plan on packing a bluetooth mouse in your travel bag though, I'd have to discourage anybody from getting the Microsoft mouse. I is BIG. It's a very nice mouse and it has a good feel, but it is more suited for the desktop than traveling.

When I bought mine, the Logitech offerings were still a rumer, otherwise I probably would have waited. Logitech had been threatening to release bluetooth devices for a few years.

Also, I want to reitterate how bad I hate the MS BT Keyboard. If you are a keyboard jockey, stay far far away from it.
