I am still waiting for the Logitech mx900 BT. However, I am curious as to how the MS Mouse is working out for those who are using it.

When you turn on your computer, does the mouse automatically get aquired and start working, or do you have to initiate a Bluetooth connection every time using the touchpad. If so this is very inconvenient, the whole object of a BT mouse is that it is completely wireless from a pointing perspective. I have yet to fine an Automatic Connect in the version of BT on my 4060 (1.3.2.9 I think).

Still heard noting about 1.4.2 Widdcom drivers for the Sagers....... Anyone?

Sager seem to be ignoring our requests to get updated drivers. And Clevo themselves think of any way to avoid the issue when I email them.

Any updates? PCTORQUE??? All the vendors are avoiding the issue also it appears.

Just my 2 cents, even if you have to initiate a Bluetooth connection, you can probably make it autostart in windows in some way, but I guess MikeInMass know the answer to that

I think it is a German company. I'm not 100% on that though.

HID devices are initiated automatically in WinXP. When I get my WinXP login prompt, I usually have to wait 2-3 seconds before I can use the mouse because Windows hasn't yet loaded the bluetooth service.

After a period of inactivity the mouse goes to sleep and drops the connection to help preserve batterly life. It takes a few minutes for this to happen. This is all transparrent. You don't get system tray notifications every time it finds or loses the mouse. That would be annoying.

Both upon starting Windows and anytime the mouse has fallen asleep, it takes 2 seconds for the mouse to respond to input. The cool thing is that the input is delayed. So if you shake your mouse to wake it you, you see nothing on the screen, then all of a sudden your icon starts playing catchup with the input it was given.

So in total, when you first start WinXP, it takes about 5 seconds before you can start using the mouse. But that's okay for me as I generally wait and let most of the Windows services load before I log in.

Well guys.. i am gonna drop in the first of two updates.

Now, like i said before, i do have an MX900. I have given the batteries enough charge to play with, so i can tell you how it goes.

Ill talk about the mouse real fast. The color scheme is a bit different fromt eh MX700, but still as visually appealing. It does feel a bit lighter as well. The buttons also feel the same (noise and pressure-wise).

Now, as i didnt order internal BT, i have a small problem (until the card that Adam is graciously sending me arrives); i dont have a BT device. Thankfully, my manager friend loaned me a Belkin USB dongle for now. So, i can still tell you about how the mouse works without a base-station..

Installation was a breeze. I didnt have to touch any Logi software. Instead, all i needed was the Belkin drivers (Widcomm 1.4.2.xx). I installed the drivers, and the profiles, and then had it search for the mouse. It found it no problem,a nd installed the HID profile with no issues. After that, the mouse started working fine.

The next test, was the power-up connection. I shut her down, and touched nothing else again, aside from the power button. Initally, the mouse did not show up. Then, i waited 5 seconds, and it worked. So, this mouse does take longer to connect vs. my MX700, but still works without user input.

So, right now, the mouse works flawlesly. Instead of the ungainly base and cables, all i have now is a mouse and very small dongle. This i can live with. I am sure it will be even better though, once i move internal.

Any questions, i am free to answer!
