It's available here in Canada in many places www.directdial.com/buyacer for example has it and at a pretty good price.

It's only available in Canada? Is it even supposed to be released in the U.S...?

I really have no idea if it's going to be released in the States. I found it hard finding reviews for it because all the reviews are for the 4005

i own a ferrari 4002 wlmi. it's been here in malaysia since last early july. the differences in the machine as opposed to the 4005 is the cpu(1.6), the ram (512-i upgraded it to 1gb though) and the hard disk drive(80GB). mine got a win xp 64 installed in it. i ran 3d mark 2003 with stock drivers, no oc what so ever and i got 5223. to me it's a powerful enough machine. very happy with it.

with the 4002 have you had any problems with it? like heat and noise?

There is also a difference in the monitor. Ferrari 4005 has a wsxga+ without CrystalBrite(glossy) while the 4002 has a CrystalBrite wxga.

Is the DVD drive on the 4002 dual-layer? Is it slot-loading?

It's a dual layer

it's a great computer. have had it for 3 days now and have been using it continuously alternating it with my compaq v2310ca ( 14.5" turion 1.6ghz ).
contrary to what i have been reading prior to purchasing the 4002, i have had no problems with the mouse, sound or dead pixels on the screen...so far. it's well worth the money spent....BUY IT
