Low sound volume during dvds

I have an Asus Z71V and noticed when playing a dvd or watching movies on the laptop, the sound is very low and cant make it any louder. This only happens when playing movies.

When playing music the sound is reasonable loud but during movies it's no where as loud.

i've tried putting the volume to max from pressing Fn+F12 and going to master volume and putting that to full as well and is still the sound is bearly hearable.

trying the lasted audio drivers dont seem to help as well

so can you reply to me as soon as possible thanks!

Which DVD player are you using? If you are using the AsusDVD player (CyberLink PowerDVD 5.0) or the latest CyberLink PowerDVD 6.0, there is an option in the configuration, audio properties under advanced called Dynamic Range Compression. If you change that setting to Noisy Environment, it boosts the volume quite nicely. In fact, this setting is recommended for notebook computers, but I enable it on all machines since it sounds better.
