I just got my 3880 (2.0ghz pentium m, 1gb ram, 80gb hdd, 128mb nvidia card). I noticed that whenever I boot the computer up from the battery (meaning its not plugged into the wall) it gives me a checksum error and ask me if I want to fix it by pressing F2. I believe all that is happening is the date and time gets reset whenever I boot up from the battery. Also whenever it resets the date and gives me that error the sound doesn't work, but if I set the date and boot it up again the sound will work

Also is the laptop supposed to get fairly warm? A friend of mine has a similar Dell model and his doesn't get this warm (nor is it this heavy...).

And is there anyway to bump up the prossecor speed when running off the battery, I've noticed a considerable decrease in performance.

Other than the weight and warmth the laptop seems alright so far...
