Just one voice from out in the crowd here. Rarely post, but I love my 9880. I have had only a driver issue or two in the beginning and they were easily ironed out.
My 9880 performs well, doesn't overheat and hasn't crashed or had any issues at all. I play Everquest 2, World of Warcraft, Dungeon Siege 2 for the most part lately and they all run very well. (I have the ATI X800). I run my games in 1920x1200 that support it and in most games have the options set to maximum.
My framerates are consistent and my temps are stable.
I work doing tech support for a large cable and internet provider and am allowed to bring my laptop to work. It works fine on the wireless there as well as at home. I use it to troubleshoot modem issues for some people and the modem has been just fine as well.
I have tested all of my usb ports, firewire ports, media card readers, paralell port, DVI out, TV Tuner and pretty much every aspect of the laptop.
I honestly couldn't be happier with this laptop.
EDIT: I pre-ordered this laptop 2 weeks before the 9880 came out, was looking at the 9860 and saw this was coming so did that. Just for reference as to how long I've had it. I don't quite remember and don't want to go pull the paperwork out, but it arrived on June 6th or 7th.
