Hmm... well, to finish beating the horse into hell:
I got my 9300 and I love it, it is a great portable laptop (I could care what that article says, I actually have field tested it) and playing games and surfing the net for hours in the airport rules. I didn't get the XPS2 because of the money (it'd cost me a good $800 more), the heat, and the bling (I go to a city school, I don't want it stolen).
However, let's be honest here, the 6800Go Ultra spanks the shit out of the 6800Go. My normal o/c of 370/800 gets me 4450 in 3DMark05. I'll probably max at 4500. The Go Ultra does ~5200 at stock, o/c'd can usually hit 6000, and I've seen a couple of people get 6500+. That's just insane. My 6800GT in my desktop only gets 6050. The processing power of the XPS2 is far superior. What does that mean? You'll be able to let your lappy have a longer life, probably six months knowing today's market
. Note that if you game with a 6800Go at 1440x900 and the Ultra at 1920x1200, they yield very similar results. Just don't screw yourself over and go for a 6800Go and a 1920x1200 screen
In conclusion (
), if you're a hardcore gamer, get the XPS2. If you want a really nice DTR multimedia laptop, get the 9300. Bottomline: in two years it's gonna mean jack.
