Cool. Now, to really impress us, make it so that every OS can read all the other partitions.

1- I never mentioned I was leet.
2- Sorry we don't know everything your 3l33t haxorness.
3- I know there are leets higher than me.
4- I have also helped people around these forums.
5- You don't act like one. Although I respect what you do it is for the better of the community, don't go like: look at me, look at me I'm l33t!
6- So if it is not based on any of those systems like you say then take it out on the others that also got it wrong like you're doing with me right now since you seem to like bashing noobs.
7- Don't think you hurt my "l33tness" or that I'm sobbing because you want to noob me.
8- You earn respect by helping and correcting others by respecting them as well, not bashing.
9- You were a noob sometime in the past and perhaps maybe got noobed as well during that time or were you born with the 3l33t knowledge already?

Erm, I don't understand why its so hard to install multiple operating systems. Even I've done it before, which is pretty bad considering the only reason I was able to install OSX was because I followed a guide. Heck, if I had had any distro of Linux installed, GRUB could've handled all the operating systems--including OSX.

Anyways...

OSX is neither UNIX nor BSD based, it core component is called MACH
Your "core component" is actually the kernel, which is actually part of BSD. We can go ahead and list every part of BSD, but do you really want to? ~_~

Could you guys elaborate a little bit on this?

(really I need to get things straight and I'm not challenging anyone)

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/unix/

Or should I prepare to get n00bed again?

moidock,

Right on! While it's admirable to accomplish the feats that archalien attained, I agree with you that his conduct was inappropriate.

I beat you all.

I have OSXI installed in my taint.

archalien,
impressive achievement!

Does also the MAC hybernation with immediate waking out work? I was impressed with this feature when I had a powerbook for a couple of weeks. Now I have a barebone analogue of Sentia and would be glad to test it with OSX.

What do you guys think about this project: http://www.osx86project.org/?

I saw an OSX once...strange looking creature pulling a plow. I guess they could pull a Sentia, it is light enough.

Someone has to bring some levity to this thread

Normally its not, but the method of getting OSX working is far from normal which included several complications, futhermore grub has issues with darwin which required further work arounds.

To the best of my knowledge the entire 244 line of Sentia's always had problems with waking from standby and hybernation in Windows, I havent tried a linux distro that has got it right yet, but OSX seems to handle it like a champ- its preliminary though and further testing needed b4 I say 4 sure.

I have helped many in the past too, but come on now, the breakthroughs Ive made in the past goes well beyong helping people out, I actually helped a whole community get more out of their 2000$ investments. Among other things I was the first person to solve screen and touchpad issues all 244 users where experienceing heck I was one of the first few to buy and post detailed reviews and pics to educate future buyers(shot out to booga). I can act however I want, I dont have to prove, earn respect from neone= I'll let my accomplishments speak for themselves.

Good points arch I think... you were born 3l33t already it seems.....

But you forgot to elaborate on this since you still insist on calling some of us n00bs becuase you insist that OSX is neither UNIX nor BSD based, it core component is called MACH

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/unix/

So please help us understand so we n00bs don't have to bother you again with our n00bness. Really, we would like to know.

Still I care about your achievements, just that some of us don't like your attitude...

Your stupidity in this thread overshadows your accomplishments.

Can't you just admit you were wrong, apologize to moidock for coming down on him so hard, and give this a rest?

If it's says it's UNIX-based, it's UNIX-based. It's not just and advertisement. They wouldn't put it there if it wasn't true.
