Anyone else running Ubuntu?

Thread Starter
I got the ol' Linux bug again and decided to install Ubuntu - Hoary Hedgehog. It installed perfectly on my XPS2, and is running nicely.

I've got it running on my 700m and am fairly happy with it. It has some quirks in some of its gui stuff, but I liked how well it supported my hardware out of the box. One thing I need to research sometime is see if I can undervolt in Ubuntu. I think I read at one point that it's been done in Gentoo.

Hey hey. I used to run ubuntu, by far one of the best distros i ever tried. I am not running it ATM because my lappy that it gets run on is in the shop (networking hardware failiure). can't wait for Breezy Badger

I've got Fedora Core installed on my desktop right now but I've been running Ubuntu off the LiveCD and once they get the graphical installer going (supposed to be in Breezy) I'll dump Fedora in favour of Ubuntu. I really like the ease of use in Ubuntu, and once they have the installer it will definitely be the best of the easy distros.

idevin, although ubuntu's installer is text, it is very very simple and well documented, don't be afraid of it and give it a go.

That is interesting. I tried it without success myself on a similar 12" laptop. Please post if you learn more.
