printing (mac -> pc)

Does anyone know the best way to print via a network from a powerbook that is connected on the same workgroup as a PC? The printer is connected to my PC through a USB connection and my powerbook is on the same network as the PC through an ethernet cable. Any ideas? I have been able to get the Powerbook to see the printer and add it as a printer however when I go to print (say a word document), the printer begins printing some odd code and not actually the document I told it too.

If your printer is wired or wireless network capeable, all you do is run the software on the PB and then follow the on screen instructions. I have a Mac and PC on a wireless printer, and as long as setup is followed correctly, its cake to do network printing.

PS: Printer will need to be Mac compliant, and you'll need a multi port router to plug in the printer.

You can do it without the multiport router, its just more complicated, I was wondering if anyone had any luck because I don't have a printer such as that.

I ran into the same problem, and instead of plugging the printer into the computer, I plugged it into the Mac. It worked like a charm... not sure if this is feasible, or maybe its the specific printers?

I can defenitly plug it straight into my Mac, i've done that in the past. I am however going to school soon and my roommate and I are going to share this printer. I need to plug it into my PC which will be on and in the room all the time and connect to it via network. My printer is an Epson 3-in-1, I'm at work right now so can't remember the model number. It's on of their printer, scanner, copier combos.

I installed the Epson drivers but have not installed the gimp? drivers?

gimp drivers are the ones developed by the *nix community for devices that companies didn't officially develop/release themselves.
