simply put does anyone here actually have one, the reviews are pretty sparse, im looking but i cant find much of anything on them and i do find it interesting... i hope someone can enlighten me...

I have one. The reason reviews are still sparse is that it's not released in the US yet and just barely in Europe (it's popping up here and there in Europe these days). There are some European reviews, but you probably have difficulties reading them

I haven't been able to write a full review yet, but you can ask me anything you like to know.

Fidget you might want to check my post of the random review I found on the net in the reviews section. It is a fairly rough translation but now a lot of people are discussing certain pros/cons in the thread. Take a look

ProPortable is getting their first batch tomorrow. 45 units and only a few available for the preorder list. Not to worry, they'll be getting another batch next week. So hopefully we'll be getting a bunch of reviews by then.

they are that loud... yikes.... i was thinking of one but here in canada there is really nothing on them yet. the first week of sept is when i am likely going to be buying and i do love that powerboook-esque styling. i just have to figure out if i can find one in canada then or if i will end up waiting forever for one.

Well, I've got to eat my words- ProPortable annouced that there's a delay on their shipment. Here's the thread on it. http://forums.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=23443

yeh, asus is really something else. god, u'd almost think that the way they miss release dates and keep suspense up about their upcoming laptops is a marketing ploy.

I risk sounding rude but in regards to marketing ploy. Preorders are not a science its more like a card game. so to you i reply Duuuuuh with all respects and kindest regards

Fidget, you shouldn't listen to Laptop<3 as he never even saw a W2V, so he can't possibly give an objective opinion. I myself consider it loud, but others don't. I guess each has his own set of standards I do not mind it however, for I like this laptop way to much to return it due to the sound alone. Besides, I still hope for being able to control the fan with CHC or something alike as the laptop runs at 37C when idle! Less even if you turn on POWERPLAY.

As for the laptop being delayed, I can understand it. This is a new laptop and it has problems. As long as (some of) the problems aren't solved for us Europeans, they probably aren't solved for the American's either and I guess that's why it's being delayed in the US. The problems Europeans have are:
- Sound issues
- Bluetooth issues
- TV tuner issues
