same like higher just wonder..is it possible?(9300 owner)

why dont you wait for it to come out first

I think the possibility is much higher for an xps2 though considering it takes alot of work just to put the 6800ultra in the 9300

it is really sad but i think it will work

the question isn't truely if it will fit or not (considering they use the same socket) but its a question if whether or not the 9300 can supply enough power to the card for it to function properly. This is a main issue with the 6800 ultra in the 9300...it jsut doesn't give it enough power.

Good luck though...sounds like a waste of time IMHO.

The 7800go should use less power than th 6800go, just like their desktop versions. And be faster than the ultra to boot!

I doubt these notebooks will be upgradeable. It'd be nice but I'm not holding my breath.

Does not seem in the best interest of Dell, but I would rather hold out for the 7800go or gtx, than get the Ultra today.

I'm betting the 7800go will be able to go in both the XPS2 and the 9300 because it's made for the same standard interface and requires less power than the Ultra. However, I'm would guess that Dell will only offer it on the XPS2. They could have easily made the 9300 support the ULTRA, but then there would have been very little reason to spend the extra cash on the XPS2, and I'm guessing that's why they won't put the 7800 in the 9300. The question is will you be able to do it aftermarket. If we could cram dual core P-Ms and 7800gos in these babies they could at least keep up acceptably well a lot longer than my old desktop.

i seriously doubt that dell will support such upgrades. they need to sell new notebooks...

Who gives a hoot, you want more, pay more in a notebook

At what point did Dell say 'Upgradeable' ??

Upgradable notebooks are a farce, check the Sager forum, I had one and skipped to the XPS 2 on the cheap, and still it sucks . ..

But, it's the best laptop I've ever had !!

They will most likey have the upgrade for the XPS, as for the 9300, I don't think they will make the same mistake offering the MR9800 for the 9100 and XPS. IMO the offer should be for dell's gaming line.

While I would tend to agree with Oswald - I think it is a distinct possibility that DELL will offer it for the XPS 2, no guarantee of course.

They did go a little bit out of their way to announce that possibility with the XPS Gen 1. The Gen 1 was only out for a year and it had at least one video card upgrade.

I would imagine it would happen with the next refresh of the Gen 2 if it happens at all. You have to remember it takes time to release a new notebook and the procedures that are required for doing so - with DELL releasing their Lexus line soon. I don't forsee a new radical design for the Inspirons anytime soon.

In the scheme of things the Gen 2 is a small, niche market tailored to gamers in particular - and DELL with their pricing models are beating Alienware and others pretty good at the moment. They will do what is necessary to keep that.

I would love it if they did offer the upgrade for XPS2 and 9300(since the 7800 should need less power than the ultra) owners, however I highly doubt it will happen.

If they did my opinion of Dell would skyrocket!
