video out wont work on my 5680 need some assistance!

sound works fine but no video plz advise!

:update: had to enable it in the drivers. this is new to me as my nvidia cards would just plug and play to tv.
anyhoo it only worked in black and white. had to take off the rca adapter and run a straight svideo cable to tv. this is a pain in the ass as i had to disconnect my dvd player to use the only svideo port on my tv.
why no color when through the converter dongle?

So it did work after not using the composite adaptor? Hrm.

Looks like I'm going to go out and get a true s-video cable.

Does your video out show some subtle white grainey kind of horizontal bars going down the screen? Mine has that and no one ever gave me a good answer to my post

i had that problem when using the rca adapter with my last home theater pc. never tried that system with just svideo cable because i didn't want to remove my dvd player like i have had to do now. it was an nvidia based system. it was really annoying but the sager seems fine

My point was like I wrote in a post in that thread, if your cable/converter setup dont work right away, then you most probably never will get it to work. Try to see if there are any switches or menu settings on the telly, though.

oh ok. its definately a problem with the laptop. i can switch to the desktop and it works perfect with rca but the sager is always black and white.
i just use svideo. its a pain but the quality is worth the hassle i have to go through i guess

i don't see why it would be.

When I use the SVHS out from my old laptop, the TV image is black and white. I must go to Display Advanced Properties to set PAL. Then I get color TV image.
If I select NTSC in my DVD, the TV image goes B/W.

didn't work for me. im just gonna have to get like a splitter that will allow 2 svideo devices to go into one input on the tv

That is what I use...

Ya, I use an S-video switch box so that I can run my laptop/PS2/DVD/VCR all into one Svideo port on my television. Works fine and was only about 20 bucks for a manual switch that allowed 5 S-video and sound inputs.

does it affect video quality at all?

Video Quality

Not at all, as long as you set it up under the advanced video settings right (ie brightness, contrast, color, screen placement and stretching...) I run movies to a 27" Sony and you can't tell that it is not the DVD player. I just extend my desktop to the TV, then move the movie over and open it to full screen. I can still be on the computer doinking around without causing any problems. Of course regular computer screens on it are going to be a bit fuzzy.
