I tried asking many people and looking at many forums so I decided you guys might be my best bet.

Anyway, I just ordered a notebook from dell slightly over a day ago. My credit card was not charged, I did not get any emails from them to confirm my order, and my dell account shows nothing. So I am curious, do you guys remember how long it took you guys to receive an email from them? I am not sure whether my order went through or not and I dont want to place another order with the fear of my current one in production without me knowing.

The most likely place it will show up first is under "Order Status" at the Dell site. If you don't see something today, give them a call to comfirm. Don't depend on an email, I read my shipping notice on the new computer.

still no email, but before i call, what would happen if i were to order again with my original order is still in production without me knowing? would i be able to cancel one of the orders before they charge my credit card? thanks

It is a little odd that your received no form confirmation stating you placed an ordrer. The production e-mail confirmation with a link to your order status can take a little while to get to you if they're bogged down, but I see no reason to reorder just to test an e-mail confirmation theory. That's gonna be way more work on your end if both orders end up in the kitting process and you have to fumble around to cancel the second order. I would definitely call them with whatever information you may have, including your credit card info handy. Did you print the last page out that shows your checkout info? Absolutely sure you completed the order with the "Thank you for your order" page? Just thinking out loud here. At least give 'em a call first. Then if you're not completely satisfied, you can shoot another configuration into the shopping cart to test the order completeness.
