cooling solutions for hot hard drive

my samsung harddrive runs at 54C. Which is almost to the limit of the recommended operating zone.

this laptop (asus z9000) is around 1 year old... so warranty just passed

I'm going to take it to the place i got it from and clean out the dust and the vents. Are there other cooling options i can do without replacing the whole harddrive?

BIOS update?

ASUS BIOS updates generally lower the temp at which the cooling system activates.
