Taking a look at one of the Clevo .inf files gives even further insight. It seems the X800 XT may be offered in three different Clevo models.

No problem. Please consider it a temporary fix. I believe the drivers will install without issue after a clean operating system install.

I tried the 5.8's on my 8790, after installing Net 1.1 and the Service packs for .Net, I installed the 5.8's. Worked at first, but when I reboot, it goes into VGA mode 640 x 480 ?? So I guess they do not work for the ATI 9700 256Mb mobility card. If anyone knows what to do to get them to work, or what drivers do work please help. I am presently using the default Sager drivers that always work fine.

Your question has been answered in the Catalyst Mobility 5.7 thread. It may take a great deal of registry editing to undo what modded drivers have done. Your best option is to reinstall your operating system.
