It shouldn't take too long. Depends on how new/old the camcorder is.

I hope that they find out a way to stop people from just installing OS X on any computer, as Apple may become history. I like Apple and what they do, so hopefully they can stick around for a long time. Some say installing OS X on any computer is going to help them, but I am not sure if it will. I own both a PC and a recently purchased Powerbook, so I like both. But, hey, I might try installing OS X on my PC too, lol.

well uncompressed its 1 GB so i have to encode it i figure its probaby gonna be a good 20-30 MB anyone gotta fast connection to host it off of or a good bit torrent tracker?
It wouldn't be so bad if OS X got out since a lot of people might get it. In turn, there hardware may go down in price which is always good. But I hope that their OS price doesn't go up, similar to WinXP which is way overpriced. Whatever Apple does, I hope they make the right decision. I have already purchased the PowerBook, so my money is gone and I am not getting it back. But, where can I find out how to install OS X on my PC, lol.

You could always host it. How fast is your upload speed? It may just be better to split it up and host it somewhere rather than creating a torrent because it'll probably be dead in no time. Plus, one site that hosted some video files via bittorrent was contacted by Apple, so I am not sure if posting on the boards would be appreciated by the Notebook Forums administrators. But, I wouldn't mind seeing the video, or watch my PC boot it up, lol.

**If OS X is on enough computers, hopefully game developers will start releasing games simultaneously rather than a year later, lol.

Yeah, I was wondering where you managed to get a hold of this. I think this is the first I've ever heard of anyone actually having an example of OS X running on an x86 machine (well, apparently Apple has been doing it themselves for awhile).

Whoa; nice screenie with the Pentium M listed. Btw, you guys updated your bios revision to A04? Is that the same as the A04 update for i9300? I'm still running A03 because the bios changes/fixes don't seem to affect me, and I don't want to go through the whole flashing thing (unless in can be done from Windows). I almost flashed my Sony burner with the new firmware, until I realized that it was the latest version already, lol.

well it was a bare converting the stupid DVDS format, anyway its being converted to FFV1 lossless right now I will probably have the avi file ready to download in the next 30-1 hour so now i just need a fast host or a bit torrent tracker, or both.

one little annoyance of the video you can clearly see the reflection of my fan throughout the video and the lights as well as me on parts, damn truelife screen hehehe.
Can you post instructions on making everything work on SSE2? That would be delightful.

yeah its not that hard, I can give full instructions on how I went from tripple boot XP/vista/gentoo to tripple boot xp/mac os x/gentoo but it will take a while and i wanna get this video going first.

cool. It would be nice to have it on my PC, but I also have a mac so I am in no rush. I am afraid that I won't be able to find the available resources since Apple is on the hunt.

If this is legit, a how to would be greatly appreciated. It would be amazing to edit w/ finalcut on my I9300!!!

It is legit. It is all over the web, or on slashdot at least. I think before they had to use vmware, but now it can run natively without any emulation. But, I don't know if I am correct, lol.

ive been running it native for about 3-4 days now just now rosetta got cracked so now i can run all ppc programs which makes a huge difference. i get about 55 on my XPS gen 2 on xbench

Note: Unfortionately video resolution sucks, this is actually gonna work better on my i6000 that actually has 3d/quartz extreme/etc drivers. because its intel graphics, duno of any other cards than intel that do full acceleration at the moment, the 2d accel is good on the 6800 just no 3d and no quartz extreme/etc. also really need to fix the resolution issue =)
