Some people are having success with this method. I personally didnt with the MX1000 or the microsoft intellimouse.

1. make sure mouse is unplugged. boot up with -s parameter to go into single user mode.

2. At the prompt, plug mouse in and type "exit" to quit single user mode.

3. If your mouse works great, if it doesnt, youre SOL.

NOTE: Some people say disabling usb emulation in the bios helped. Didnt work for me but its another thing to try if you really want the mouse.

The error I am getting on boot is waiting for remote debugger connection. kdp_poll: no debugger device

As I said, the same drive boots fine on my PC(no network though.)

I didn't have any luck with the ghost image. I made a bootable GHOST DVD and put the image on it, when I open it it says it is not a valid ghost image.

Hrm...I used Ghost 2003 for XP and just did it in XP (although the computer did restart to copy the image) Sure, Ghost doesn't know what its copying, but it doesn't need to. I used to use Ghost in this way to copy modified XBox hard drives. All I can say is from the begining of my first step, using Partition Magic 8.0 to reize a partition to 6.0GB, to booting up OS X - it was like 20 minutes total. And I haven't had a single problem yet (except for the computer hanging on shutdown...but that was the bluetooth, and its fixed now.) I can use my network card and get online. I even installed AIM for Mac (it was the first program I though about trying.)

I can now safely navigate around Mac OS, which is nice. Because before yesterday, I had no clue. Everyone should rate this thread, and maybe give some positive rep to exabytehd.

Just a suggestion but have you tried disabling usb emulation in the bios? A lot of people are getting this error and it seems to be USB related.

I think not booting on the laptop is a function of using an external USB drive. Apparently people are having some USB issues on the 9300.

The ghost image is a separate deal. I played with it some more today and Ghost is telling me the image was not created in Ghost.

On a separate note, I loaded Maxxuss .4 patch to get Rosetta working on SSE2 chips and it hosed my install, it just starts to boot and says restart the PC now.

Wow, I guess I am lucky. Because I have had zero issues. In fact it has been really pleasant.

Thats a kernel panic. Try booting into verbose mode and see what kinda errors you are getting.

is it stable? or does it feel like a beta release?
For me, its stable. For a bit it hung on shut down. But that's fixed. It hasn't hung since, it's never really crashed on me. It doesn't feel like a beta for me, except for the lack of the drivers.

By the way...I just successfully burned a CD with iTunes. I was pretty surprised it worked actually.

Has anyone gotten this working from an external USB drive? Have tried many times and failed; any help would be great. I'm gonna give up soon and go with a partition .
I too am having problems with the ghost image. I am trying to put it on my desktop. I have the partition on my second HD. I see the partition but my computer does not see the Mac OS. What should I do ?

You should go with a partition anyhow, its more stable and faster then a external USB drive.

Clarify more. You used Ghost to copy the image to a 6GB partition, right? Then you put chain0 in the root of your C drive? Then you added "C:\chain0="Mac OS X" to the end of your boot.ini file on your C drive?

When you boot you should be able to choose Mac OS X

Clarify all of the steps you have taken so far.

OK, know how to get to the boot ini and do the chain0, but where do I do the other chain0 ? Please explain....thanks.

I am using another drive letter "H". How would I set up the whole boot.ini command line for that ?
