Im not sure if this forum allows it so if not, just let me know and I will go ahead and remove all this.
Anyways, I followed this guide:http://www.360hacker.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=237
The distro can be found here (you will need bittorrent):http://torrentspy.com/search.asp?mod...ery=vmware+os+
Ubuntu is a free download from their website, just make sure you get he LIVE version. You will have to get vmware, I just happened to "find" it lying around...
If you do not want to reinstall windows, you are going to need partition magic to shrink your windows partition. There does seem to be a problem with this install however. The way "deadmoo" decided to do it, you are restricted to 6gb of space. So you wont benefit much from a 30gb partition since OS X will only see 6gb. Some people say they have been able to resize but I wasnt able to do it.
Anyways, once you have the partitoning done and you have all the files, just follow the guide step by step. It works without any complications but I will be more than happy to help you out if you get stuck.
Ok, so you have OS X working right? You can log in and stuff? Great. Theres just one problem. Pentium M doesnt support SSE3. Thats ok though, its been patched. Download this file:http://utopia.crystalcore.org/osx86/...usive-v0.2.zip
And follow the directions posted by realiso.http://www.360hacker.net/forums/view...r=asc&start=15
It -does- help to have some knowledge of linux but it is not necessary and it is definitely not necessary to have any knowledge of os x. This was my first time using it outside of messing with ibooks at frys electronics.
Just a word of warning, you are restricted to 1280x1024x16 resolution, pcmcia sound cards do not work, mx1000 does not work, video acceleration is not working and a lot of things are buggy, namely safari. All in all, people are making great breakthroughs but the OS is far from usable.
The upside is OS X in blazing fast. Boot up took maybe 25-30 seconds with 512 ram and a really slow 60gb hdd. Once in OS X, it still runs extremely quick, much faster than windows.
