Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse

One semi-savory site offered less on Pricegrabber.

Rebates valid till 8-20-05
For my tax rate it was Reg $39.99 - $5 instant rebate = $34.99, $37.97 after tax - $10 rebate = $27.97 total

Comes in grey black or grey blue. Funny they didn't have a tester/demo of it on their mouse 'line'. However they had plenty of boxes on the ground level and even at the racks on the checkout line, I'd say at least 40 mice @ my store.

Not a bad little mouse, I really like the fact that the USB dongle attaches to the mouse when not in use (also acts as a power off switch, there is no on-off switch per say)

I have huge hands and have been using it since I got back from Compusa and it's really not that uncomfortable. I like it so far, pluged it in and was good to go

No Frills package

USB Dongle docked under the mouse

Dongle out = mouse is on

Dongle can swivel

I liked the "dongle in mouse" setup, but it looked REALLY small. Plus, it has a really low refresh rate--400DPI, right? MIcrosoft's full-featured wireless mouse is pretty slow to respond, so I can only guess how slow that one is...

HERE'S MINE - ILL MAKE IT CUT AND DRY!

TWO THUMBS DOWN, OR HECK, WHY NOT EVERYONES. Oh all the cons of this POS.

Ahhh, lets start wit hthe cheap ass wheel that for some reason MS chose for it to wiggle side to side and so profusely like a fat man doing the chicken dance and it sounds like a machine gun or fisher price rotary toy when scrolling? The side rubber grips turn yellow within a month from skin contact and make the mouse look like someone peed on it. Or maybe the dumbass sized receiver - not to mention HUGE! - is a curly fry and blocks ports and optical drives unless you have it curled up.

that mouse is pretty good but suspectible to RF interference. i used to have it till i got mad since the mouse would jerk and click the mouse button at work, (theres some strange Rf freq around here) so i got a MX900 bluetooth mouse

Actually this mouse on the microsoft wireless notebook mouse does not wiggle from side to side, those new mice that wiggle from side to side do so for a reason sir. The ones that wiggle from side to side offer scrolling function from side to side, you can use it to scroll from side to side on a page that is larger than your screen/resolution. Its actually quite a handy function, Microsoft mice and keyboards are among the very best available.

It is smaller than a normal mouse but actually quite find with my big hands, I like it alot and it doesnt take up much space beside your laptop which is handy for portable use.

I've used one for the past 8 months and I am very very happy with it. Firstly, it's... well, I've had a friend tell me it was "Sexy". The size isn't a problem as the buttons are just as big as normal and since it's smaller it's actually easier to move around. The single AA battery it takes lasts FOREVER. My first battery lasted nearly 2 months. I haven't bothered to keep track, but if you store the dongle in it I bet you could make it last even longer. It is of a very sturdy build (I have a bad habit of throwing wireless things) and the wheel does NOT wobble from side to side like one of the people complained about. overall, 5/5, 10/10, a great M$ product.

I have this mouse also, and it's great for general stuff where you don't need precision or super smoothness. For games and stuff where you wanna be quick and accurate, this mouse definitely starts to show its weakness.

I have yet to find an acceptable wireless mouse. I've tried several of those that come with wireless Logitech keyboards, a Logitech MX700, some Kensington mini crud, this MS wireless notebook one, a Logitech wireless notebook and the Logitech v500. I've yet to try a bluetooth, though. Seems like RF will just never be good enough. Out of those I've tried though, this MS notebook wireless was the best.
