whats wrong with trading firearms for computers?

for starters its more secure then regular trading on here. and is regulated by the federal govt.

you need documentation to send out a firearm to a dealer. you cant just mail it.

each transfer is documented and wont be released if you dont pass the background check.

Do you live in Downtown Toronto by any chance?

The "need" to own a gun is no different than the "need" to own an XPS Gen2, Pinmodded, overclocked, and totally ready to rip anything apart... Is it necessary? No. Are guns necessary? No. BUT, can you play computer games without a computer? No (unless you have console games, but they just arent as good). Can you hunt without a gun? No (unless you have a bow, but just like consoles, not as good).

Feeling the need to tell other people they shouldn't have guns is a crazy hypo-testosteronic male hippy tree-hugger Canadian thing...

Oh really? Then why does my wife, who is very much female, unless they changed that thing about guys not having babies, have a couple of pistols, a shot guy and a rifle?????
As to the OP the only problem I can forsee with with trading a firearm for a computer is the person who has the computer may be a closed minded individual who would freak at the idea.

not all canadians believe guns are wrong.... i personally love hitting the range, and pistol shooting is great. i am a canadian and have zero problem with firearms.

I got three words 4 all of you get a life...

If you feel the need to own a firearm for protection then you are obviously not comfortable with yourself. take some self defense classes for crying out loud I can understand its entertainment for you but isnt their just a little bit of a better way to do that? and telling me that you won't waste keystrokes on my opinion is just a sign ignorance if you are not willing to join the debate then why did you post.

No I don't live in canada and have never hugged a tree I did not come here to start a fight. apperantly I got one though. Anyway this is my last post on this topic and i will leave you guys to chew at this.

I never understood arguements like this at all. I live in NYC, so it's damn near impossible to have a firearm here, but I have family all over Texas and some do have weapons at home. I just wonder if or when someone breaks into your home with a weapon how your kung fu skills would come in handy against someone with a gun. A skilled marksman has a fighting chance to defend himself in his own home at least. If being armed is not to your liking, then don't get a gun. However, we are afforded that right by the 2nd amendment. So let those that choose to LEGALLY defend themselves and their property do so. I'm not going to start using derogoraty names or call you a treehugger or whatever, but why is it always those who choose not to do something that always want to dictate the lives of others that don't share their opinion?

A liberal is a conservative that hasn't been mugged yet.

Your missing the whole point here guys,it's not about the right to bear arms it's about trading them to some unknown person whose intentions are??? who knows??I am an avid hunter and own numerous rifles as well as handguns but I'd be crazy to swap any of them to someone I don't know.

I understand that point, and I agree wiley. Somehow, I doubt that's what kaltek meant. From his tone, he simply does not like the premise of people being armed. He wants them to get a life and take self defense classes...lol.

I'm sure some self defense moves will stop a criminal with a gun to think twice before robbing my house....

Maybe we can just learn Tae-bo to scare off would be assailants. We can stay fit and put the fear of God into armed bad guys.

In Kaltek's defense, a MASSIVELY MASTERFUL SENSEI OF THE ANCIENT ARTS could probably take any Joe Schmoe with a pistol...

However. To become that good, you're going to have to live in a hut in the mountains and no one will ever break into your abode anyway...

In my personal opinion, taking firearms classes or hitting the range or whatever, and taking personal defense classes are the same thing.
