Dirty Business Scammer Alert!

Original post is under "Laggy Seller Alert!"

Ok....this is the fast version.

Put up a post for WTB Dell 9300. This guy Shawn emailed me telling me he would sell for 1100. We agreed to send half payment, he would ship, and when I received the lappy I would send the other half. I sent payment and he didn't ship for almost 2 weeks. I then filed a claim with paypal. He then complains to get the hold of so he could buy medicine for his mother (yeah right). I tell him I dont want to do business with him and to send me the money back. Telling him NOT to ship me anything 5 days after the paypal claim he sends shipping info. I then contact FedEx and tell to hold the package and I will come to them. At this point fedex opened the package for me. Now I was expecting something shady from this guy so video taped the entire process of opening the package at FedEx.

He shipped 11.9lbs of paper. Scratch notebook paper!

Now the kewl thing is that the package was refused and they shipped it back so I won my claim with paypal. The horrible thing is that paypal is shady themselves! The ****ers wouldn't give me a refund!

PAYPAL WILL NOT REFUND ANY FUNDS IF YOU ARE A VICTOM OF FRAUD UNLESS YOU BUY FROM A PROTECTED SELLER ON EBAY WITH THE BLUE SHEILD NEXT TO THE PAYPAL EMBLEM.

It gets worse. So paypal tells me that I will receive funds when he gets them in his account! Great but he is negative almost 575.00 because he had drained his account. So I asked paypal. What about collections? Don't you sell his debt and eventually get the money back. They said after 120 day that would happen. So I asked them, "Would I get my money back after collections?" They said, "We would not be able to guarantee that". So basically they let the seller steal 575.00 from me but when they get the funds from him they won't pay me back! So paypal becomes the thieves.

Thanks to Wells Fargo there might be a happy ending to this story. I am awaiting the phone call from there fraud department where the lady I talked to yesterday said I have a great case cause I filed police reports in TX and Georgia. So they will refund my money and take the issue up with paypal. That would be kickass! All I wanted was a freekin lappy and Wells Fargo might help that be a reality.

Now steps have been taken to purse criminal charges against the seller. Charges have been filed in TX where I reside and the information has been sent to the Augusta Georgia Police where the seller resides. Police have the video and pics for evidence as well as all the emails in the first post. This is great, so the police tell me that they will summon the information from paypal about this guy (bank account, SSN, address) and go make an arrest. That would give this story a happy ending.

So look out for a guy called

Shawn Thompson
Benny P
Benjamin OCP
B. J.

emails are
shawntho21@yahoo.com
benjaminsmane@yahoo.com

Scammer lives in Augusta Georgia.

Say jackass.....if you have half a freekin brain you will be reading this. Run bizzzznitch....hide....do what ever you got to do but the police are lookin for you. 575.00 is alot of money for me to lose in a scam but not alot of money for your dumbass to go to jail over and get your credit pwned!

I think I'm gonna have me a beer!

Hopefully by the end of the day I will be posting that Wells Fargo called and refunded me the cash.

Good luck mate... there should be stiffer enforced penalities for online fraud... I hope this guy gets what he deserves. its too easy for people to get away with this. maybe we can learn a thing or too from our experiences.
Ps nice touch getting Fedex to open the package.

That's totally disgusting and lame. Why even bother sending anything out at all if you want to scam someone out of their money? Why waste time just to send out a stack of papers? That was done just to piss you off. I hope you get your money back dude. I was almost scammed by a guy selling a Dell 2405fpw monitor. He was a local guy, literally lived 15 minutes away from me, I told him I might as well come buy it in person and pick it up, I could literally walk to him. That's when the bullshit started. He said he wanted to mail it, I told him that made no sense and that he did not have to do anything, I can literally walk to your house dude. He then kept on making excuses as to why he could not meet with me. His mom was sick, his grandma was sick, his dog was hit by a car, he twisted his anke playing basketball. All this in like a 3 day span. How much shit can happen to a guy in 3 days? I just got fed up with his crap and told him to go **** himself. Turns out that he tried to run the same game on other people as well.

Sorry for the slight thread hijack man, I know how some of these guys operate and it's disgusting. Guys like that deserve a beatdown.

No problem bro. All I can really get out of this as a learning experience. Plus I hope they make a arrest. Now that would be sweet.

1. Never buy unless you contact them( not them contacting you after you post a WTB add).
2. Get pics, description, about the item.
3. If its alot of money in the transaction call them and get them on the phone. You can hear people out alot of time because if they are scammers they have to think on there toes.
4. Last and just about the most important is get references! If its over a forum how many post do they have and can other people on the forum vow for them.

I feel like expert now that I got scammed. Damn....can believe this actually went down like this.

I freaking hate paypal. I agree, they are a bunch of thieves.

"Next time" try escrow.com . I sold my old laptop thru the forums here and the buyer suggested it. Worked for me. Takes a week to 10 days, but it's worth being secure.

the cool thing about paypal, is if someone sends u money from a fraud or stolen account...and you already have money in hand, paypal can't do shit about it!

What the hell kind of point is that? More like another reason why paypal is NOT the way to purchase items. Sounds like paypal is not all its cracked to be.

Thats just a suspicious comment to make. Hows that working out for ya?

Ok NEWB! The point is if someone from nigeria or whatever is gonna rip you off, as long as you get money in HAND then there is nothing paypal can do once you have ur money!
